What are the various types of Research with its Examples?
TYPES OF RESEARCH — 1. Basic Research — for the sake of enhancing knowledge. Basic or pure research is done with the intension of overpowering the unknown. 2. Applied Research — or practical research is termed as need based research having high practical relevance. Aim is to find solutions to the problems being faced by the society, government or the business. 3. Empirical Research — here first hand data is collected and analysed. Also referred to as Experimental research . The researcher tries to manipulate the independent variables within the research design and study it's effect on the variables under study. Example - The findings from such research are extrapolated to hold true for the world at large e.g. study of effect of a Depreciating Dollar or Indian Export Industry. 4.
